A belt bar where you imagine the recipe, we provide the craftsmanship live. Because when you meet the crafter, the final object carries an emotional weight that makes all the difference.

We love to transmit, leather classes every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, for a hands-on immersion.

Originally trained as a dentist in Argentina, she adapted to our techniques with remarkable speed. Her background shines through in her meticulous care, as she welcomes every customer with genuine empathy and distinct savoir-faire.

She built Bonenfant’s social media strategy from the ground up and continues to document our everyday craft online. Soft in her approach, deeply rooted in what we do.

Calm, perceptive, and ready for something new. Maritza spent years in banking before deciding to follow what had always inspired her, Art. She joined Bonenfant at the very beginning of that journey, and we’re proud to be part of it.

We use the “Mozart” to cut all our leather patterns, following the traditional way.

To achieve the appropriate thickness, we use this tool then our vintage machine to shave edges. Sharpening the blade can be very loud!

Made in Germany, 100% of our collection is made by our Adler sewing machine, high precision, super strong. This machine could stitch a finger if we are not vigilant and careful.

 

 

The food industry generates an abundance of hides, and it makes sense to recycle them. 

Leather, treated properly, becomes a useful organic long lasting product.

 

We opted to work with vegetable tanned leather. It means, caw hides transformed into leather without using heavy metals like chrome. Our leather ages like good wine. Colors acquire a unique patina over time.

Our location in Catalonia, Spain, allows us access to the best tanneries in the world. We love to visit them, ask questions, observe, and learn about leather fabrication. It’s a real partnership we have built over time.

Optimizing sewing patterns

We create sewing patterns that permit us to get the most from our materials. Nothing goes to waste. We use the remaining material to create our earrings, wallets, glasses cases, key chain, charms…

RESPECT FOR THE PREVIOUS LIFE

We always select the most beautiful part of the leather for the fronts of our bags, keeping scars and natural life marks for the backs or the insides. We believe the rawness of the leather is its animal essence, bearing the marks and scars of life.

 

Leather ages beautifully and marks eventually fade into the leather, becoming part of its unique patina.

We carefully select every material to meet our high-standard expectations, resulting in sustainable products that last.
